What to do about orange roots?

I dyed my dirty blonde hair blonde today with a box dye for the first time. My hair had highlights in it that I had professionally done 5 months ago. I picked a dye that was only a few shades lighter than my natural hair because I was nervous about using the box dye in the first place. The end result was orange/strawberyy blonde roots and almost no color change anywhere else. My original plan was to wait it out 2 weeks to see if the orange will fade and if it doesnt go get it fixed, hopefully highlights will help blend the two colors? But now im worried will the longer I wait cause it to be brassy? Or is there no chance it will fade and should I just get it fixed asap??
