Do house rabbits make the room dirty even if litter trained?

if i brought my rabbit from outside into my room, would it make it smell, and bring poo everywhere if it gets stuck to his foot. he is litter trained. but i don't want him wrecking my room lol, as i would plan for him to be out of his cage, free roaming my room most of the time.
